United Way of Washington County celebrates the retirement of our esteemed colleague and long-time volunteer, Mike Harsh, from Hagerstown Community College. His departure leaves a void in our community, but we are also filled with pride for his many accomplishments.
Mike began his teaching career in Speech, Drama, and English at St. Maria Goretti High School. After teaching part-time at the then-Hagerstown Junior College for seven years, he joined the staff full-time in 1983 as the liaison coordinator of off-campus programs. He has worked tirelessly for more than 50 years in education, inspiring young and old minds alike! Mike has served the community in various volunteer roles over the years and has been a huge supporter of the United Way of Washington County.
We thank you, Mike, for your selfless service to our community and wish you a happy retirement!
You are OUR superhero!
