Smithsburg's Community Conversation - Saturday February 23rd

Smithsburg's first community conversation held on february 23rd.

Almost 50 Smithsburg area residents attended the first small town community conversation held at the Smithsburg branch of the Washington County Free Library. The purpose of the event was to foster dialogue and establish friendships between residents of Smithsburg. Discussions surrounding thoughts and concerns about the community were encouraged. Conversations were ongoing and seemed to flow, topics ranged from perceieved issues, public transit to student mental health and economic development goals for the community. A full report will be provided once all data has been compiled and published.

Event sponsors were Sunny Crest Farm & Home Center & Elisa Sharpe, of Smithsburg. A lunch was provided for all participants by Smithsburg Market.

The next community conversation is slated for Saturday March 30th, 2019 at the Hancock Veterans Memorial Branch. For more details or to register, click here.
